No Sound when Switching to SoundGrid Processing in StudioRack

Important Notes:

The last Waves plugin version supported in SoundGrid Studio is V14.

The last version of StudioRack that supports integration with SoundGrid Studio and offloading plugin processing is V14.

If you need to roll back, refer to this article.

If no sound is audible when switching to SoundGrid processing in StudioRack, follow these steps:

Dissociate and Reassign the Soundgrid Driver

  1. Quit your host application.
  2. Open the SoundGrid Studio application.
  3. Go to Setup
  4. Under I/O devices, go to the SG Driver slot and click the arrow on its right-hand side.
  5. Select Remove from the dropdown menu.
  6. Click OK when prompted.
  7. In the same SG Driver slot, click the arrow again and reassign the local computer in Network Devices.
  8. Launch your DAW.
  9. Create a fresh session with a supported sample rate.
  10. Create an audio track, load StudioRack, add at least one plugin, and see if the issue persists.

If the Issue Persists, Re-Install the Waves SoundGrid Driver

Windows

  1. Quit all host applications.
  2. Press the [Win key], type Programs and Features and hit Enter.
  3. Uninstall the Waves SoundGrid Driver.
  4. Restart your computer.
  5. Go to C:\Program Files (x86)\Waves\SoundGrid\Utilities and run the last modified Waves SoundGrid Driver Setup.
  6. Follow the on-screen instructions and complete the installation process.
  7. Restart your computer.
  8. Launch your Waves host application and see if the issue persists.

Mac

  1. Quit all host applications.
  2. Go to Applications > Waves > SoundGrid > Utilities.
  3. Run the Waves SoundGrid Driver Uninstaller.
  4. When prompted, click Yes and finish the uninstallation process.
  5. Restart your computer.
  6. Go to Applications > Waves > SoundGrid > Utilities.
  7. Run the SoundGridDriver.pkg file and follow the onscreen instructions to complete the installation.
  8. Restart your computer.
  9. Go to System Preferences > Security & Privacy > General.
  10. Click Allow within 30 minutes of installing Waves. If 30 minutes have passed, restart your computer to show the button again.

Once the driver is installed

  1. Launch SoundGrid Studio, go to Setup/b>, and assign your I/O, computer, and Server.
  2. If you have a Soundgrid audio interface, go to Patch/Mixer and ensure that the connections between your I/O and Driver are configured correctly.
  3. Launch your host application.
  4. Create a fresh session with a supported sample rate.
  5. Create an audio track, load StudioRack, add at least one plugin and see if the issue persists.
