How to Rename Computers and Drives in Waves Central

Mar 26, 2023

If you have several computers and/or USB flash drives on which you have activated licenses (or wish to do so), learn how to rename each device in Waves Central, making them easier to identify in your online Waves account and when managing licenses in Waves Central.

  1. Launch Waves Central.
Windows: via the desktop shortcut or Start Menu > All Programs > Waves
    Mac: Applications > Waves Central
  2. Log into Waves Central using your Waves account information.
  3. Select the Licenses page.
  4. Select the Connected Devices or Disconnected Devices tab.
  5. There is a small ‘Pen’ icon next to the name of each device, when you hover this icon with your cursor it turns blue.
  6. Click the Pen icon and type in a new name for your device.
  7. Click the green checkmark to apply.

Once applied, the name of this device will be updated in Waves Central and your online Waves account (Refresh the webpage to see the change reflected).

Important Notes:

If you have renamed a disconnected device, the name will reflect in Waves Central on the current computer you are using and in your online Waves account (a refresh is required), but will only be updated on the actual disconnected device (other computer or USB flash drive) once it is connected and you log in to Waves Central.
